Tomorrow Will Be The Last Day Of Continental
Houston based Continental Airlines will operate for the last time on September 30th with the last flights of the day. Past, Present, and Future
Pictured above is a DC-3A that Continental flew in the 1950s, in front of its current maintenance hangar. These fleets paved the way for the modern American air travel industry, quickly replacing trains as the favored means of long-distance travel across the United States. Continental Airlines started out as Varney Speed Air Lines in 1934 and was renamed Continental Airlines in 1937. Pictured below is the future of Continental Airlines as it officially merges with United Airlines on Friday.
